AI motion transfer
Transfer motion from a reference video onto a different character, keeping the performance and changing who performs it.
Motion transfer separates a performance from the performer. Supply a reference video of the movement and a target character, and the output keeps the timing and body mechanics while changing who is doing it.
This is the studio to reach for when the movement is the hard part — a dance, a specific gesture, a walk cycle — and generating it from a text prompt would mean rerolling until the physics happened to look right. Acting it out and transferring it is far more direct.
Runway Act Two is the primary model here, working from a driving performance rather than a skeleton rig — so the input is a video of someone doing the thing, not an animation curve.

FAQ
AI motion transfer — questions
What do I need to supply?
A reference video containing the motion, and a target character image or video.
How is this different from image-to-video?
Image-to-video invents motion from a prompt. Motion transfer copies motion that already exists in your reference, which is far more controllable when the movement is specific.
